Maybe it was too good of a present. I may never get to use it. Humph. Unfortunately I have no first hand knowledge. My husband loves it and said it was the best golf gift ever.
great product, it has lower my handicap from 19 to 12.best father's day gift ever.
Overall, this gadget is user-friendly and is very accurate; should be part of every golfer's bag, amateur or pro. At times difficult centering eye onto viewfinder even with revolving eyepiece. Bracing it to golf cart/bag helps.
USGA legal, precise, accurate and reliable, at times better than digital/gps units since flagstick placements vary. Excellent pouch container can be strapped to golf bag for easy accessibility.Cons. Pros.
Needs steady, calm hands particularly with farther distances. Don't buy this if you don't want your buddies to pester you with the question, "How far am I from the hole." Battery life lasts several rounds, reliable even with suboptimal temps (Seattle WA).
Viewfinder and zoom range are clear.
Anything over that and it takes a pretty steady hand, usually I shoot a terrain feature such as a bunker or tree or something larger than the pin. It is a little pricey, but it works great. At 200 yards +-, the 7X monical has no problem locking right on the pin. I have tried several of the lower cost range finders in an attempt to replace my 10 year old Bushnell 500 Yardage Pro, which I was very happy with. Very satisfied with this product. My thoughts were that after 10 years, there'd be some product half the cost that would work as well. None of them came close to the performance I was used to. Anyway, I finally got the 1500 with Slope and I'm glad I did.
Now that I know how far I really hit it and how far I want to hit it I'm actually hitting more greens. This is way more flexible than a GPS device would have been.Distances appear accurate when compared to yardage plaques on the course. Great product. I chose this unit after evaluating both GPS and laser types and looked at nearly every model out there. This one looked like the best value and my Bushnell scopes have always been reliable.I've now used it at the range to validate my club distances and on the course to learn the distances to hazards, or landing areas as well as to the pin.
